Dude, this place is LEGIT. This isn't your ordinary pizza joint. Don't come here expecting to order a regular "Pepperoni pizza" (although you could). It's an artisan, healthy, delicious mix of ingredients on a crust (or in a salad for people who prefer that kinda thing). I must have stared at the menu for more than 5 minutes... I was drooling. There were so many options with cool and unique ingredient combinations that looked appetizing! I ended up with the Mexican Pizza (Red & green onions, avocado, chicken, mozzarella, salsa, sour cream, cilantro, etc). It had just the right amount of spice and the flavor was great! I'm really surprised I finished the whole pizza, I wasn't even that hungry. I've also had the ZBQ and the Thai Chicken pizzas- both awesome. I was also pleased that the Thai Chicken pizza had cool, fresh veggies added after it came out of the oven. Not a lot of places do that, but it keeps them moist & crispy! Some good beers on tap and they were showing Mountain biking videos on the TVs. It's a small location, but it works for its purpose. Hands down the best pizza spot in mammoth!

Absolutely amazing. Best pizza we've had in Mammoth by far. Also the best service. Jacob the delivery guy goes above and beyond! We will definitely be giving them our business again!

ZPizza is one of the best pizza places I have ever eaten. For those of you that check my FB, Twitter and Yelp, you KNOW I like to eat!!! I love this pizza. Paired along with a Mammoth Pilsner, I'm in heaven.

Super courteous and friendly employees. Pizza was SO fresh and delicious. Not much more money than your run of the mill pizza shop but for the fresh ingredients, totally worth it. We're from Southern California and this was our first stop. Got an XL pep pizza for the family. I can't say enough good things about the quality of service and food.

I love that this place offers a vegan pizza! The first time I ate there, I couldn't believe how amazing the vegan "sausage" tasted. I've been coming here for years and it's great to have a vegan-friendly place to grab some grub in Mammoth. I usually like supporting local businesses, but in this case, I love this chain. Nobody else in town carries vegan pizza! They also substitue toppings at no extra cost, which is almost unheard of. The staff is always wonderful and the delivery is speedy. I would definitely recommend eating at Z's!

My pizza came out to $19.95. I was told that there was a $20 delivery minimum, and asked if there was anything else I'd like to order. So, I was short by a nickel. This brings up two issues: These guys are pricing pizza at five cents below the delivery minimum in an attempt to force customers to order food they don't want. So if you're ready to shell out 19 bucks for a pizza, you better also be ready to spend another $10 on a mediocre side salad. Second issue here is the service. We're talking about a nickel here. Five cents. There were a million ways we could've settled this like rational, decent people. They could've just charged me more, I could've tipped the driver extra, we could've shared a laugh at management's little nickel grubbing scheme and called it a day. But no, they tried to strong arm us into buying a salad. Stay classy Zpizza.

Pretty interesting pizzas. Ordered a large half zbq & half Mexican. The large is 14" with 8 slices ($20). They provided us with plates. Took about 15 minutes to make. Came on a Saturday night 8 pm, no wait. They have some beers on tap as well as salads and calzones. The pizza itself was pretty good. The zbq had better flavor than the Mexican. Neither were spicy. Crust was thin and crispy. Nothing amazing though.

First off, they delivered to my fiancé and I in the midst of the biggest storm of the season. I was terrified to leave my room, let alone drive anywhere. They have a very efficient online ordering set up, I got a extra large pizza with completely different sauce and toppings on both sides. So much easier than trying to explain to someone over the phone. The pizza dough is thin and crispy with options for whole wheat and gluten free. Great artisanal toppings to choose from! For one half of my pizza I picked; pesto sauce, mozzarella and ricotta cheese, chicken sausage, grilled onions, jalapeños and sweet corn! Amazing! (Cost about 26$ for ex large)

My wife and I had a good experience. Well priced lunch specials. Good pizza. Good service, and they have personality.

Great pizza! After going to a horrible experience at stellar brew and deli, we were looking for anything. Found zpizza and had an AMAZING vegan pizza with vegan cheese and some toppings from the build your own menu. Really helpful and nice staff who make really great pizzas. I would recommend coming here

Zpizza had to be one of the best additions to Mammoth ever when it came to town a few years back. Being from the east coast, I had actually never heard of it beforehand. Super friendly staff and quick service, although I never went with the delivery option. Go for the wheat crust and the veggie calzone!

Ordered two pizzas. One gluten free, the other one not. Mistake at the counter and we ended up with two gluten free versions. Both the pizza's were edible...but there was nothing about them that stood out. The sauce was not memorable...the crust was boring...in short...we left there and wished we had chosen another place. The help was nice...pizza's were made fresh. Meh.

    (3)
  • S M.

One of the few places that have a gluten free pizza. It is one of the better gluten free pizzas.

  • Dylan R.

I ordered a vegan pizza. It was pretty good. A little pricey, but at least it was delivered quickly.

We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. For the price it should have been awesome... Unfortunately the pepperoni tasted 'off'- my kid who loves pepperoni pizza refused to eat it. I called to tell then pepperoni was off ask them to replace the un-eaten pizza with a simple cheese one...and they refused... Since writing the original review, I have upped my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I returned the pizza to the store, and the owner apologized and offered a refund. I understand it's difficult to navigate issues with an unhappy customer, and he did the best he could in a challenging situation.

I love Z pizza. Came here one day before checking into our Mammoth cabin. The pizza came out within a reasonable amount of time- piping hot and fresh. We also ordered some pitchers of beer to go around. The service at this location is very friendly. The food here is also very good.

  • Kaori M.

I had not expected this pizza place at all but not bad. On the way to Death Valley we stopped here and shared extra large size zbq. Good place at road trip. But this is close to my place, I will never go.

Amazing Pizza and Quick Delivery Service (even in a down pour). On-line ordering was a plus.

  • Sidney S.

My idea of feng shui is to have them arrange the pepperoni in a circle on my pizza -- Anonymous After a day of touring Lakes, I didn't really feel like cooking or going out. Z Pizza delivery fit the bill perfectly. My son had a Pepperoni and Cheese small pizza, I had a chicken sausage artisan pizza with wheat bread (and a lovely Pinot I bought at Vons). Both pizzas were very good. I love the online ordering service with Z Pizza although delivery did arrive 15 minutes early, right when we came back from Vons. I had to throw my wine in the freezer to chill up a bit before I could eat. How irritating are the absolute horrors of First World Living...how do we bear to survive? ;) Recommended...and now back in balance again with 495 friends - 495 reviews? Do I dare break harmony with another review??? Don't blame me if the world ends...

Addicted. As a native New Yorker (and one who generally leaves pizza places with a frown) I approve. Thin, crispy crust. Decent by-the-slice prices. Snowboarding videos playing in the constant loop. Everything you need! Did I mention beer on tap also?! I stop here on the way to work and it's SERIOUSLY affecting my ability to show up sober (jk to the 500,000 cops in Mammoth) They'd be five star if the service matched the food. Not that they don't get their job done, I just usually feel a bit uncomfortable coming through the door... Smile, people.

Had the Thai chicken pizza. Usually our favorite. Asked for no bean sprouts and extra peanut sauce. Came with sprouts and almost no sauce. :(

  • JoAnn H.

Z pizza has always offered a great gluten free pizza option. The cashier was polite and funny while my boyfriend and I dined. This particular zpizza is sort of hidden in the back of the shopping complex so don't miss it! Pizza came out fast and the crust, for gluten free, was pretty great!

    (4)
  • Steve K.

I used to order all the time from Z Pizza regularly. But, they messed up the last two in a BIG WAY. The first time, about a month ago, they put normal cheese on a vegan pie. Last night, we called the order in, hoping they'd get it right. They didn't. They put chicken on half of our vegan pie.

  • Stacey O.

The pizza was great. No doubt about it. But the Pear & Gorgonzola salad is to die for. It was perfect. Not too sweet. Honestly, so good!

  • Dani S.

We are turning into a bunch of lazy old foggies. On our latest mammoth trip, we rode too hard and ended up too tired to even go out to eat. Luckily, there's such a thing called takeout and delivery, one of the better inventions created by homosapiens. Sadly, it took about an hour to get our food. The 2 pizzas we ordered were good but the dough was a bit thick. The salad was just plain disgusting. Most likely not ordering from here again.

    (3)
  • Josh H.

Yuck! YELP fails me again. We ordered delivery but my opinion wouldn't change even if we were in the restaurant. Ordered the Provence plus chicken sausage. Very very salty pie. Chicken sausage was not good. My homemade crust is so much better than zpizzas. Id say this is a step up from dominos and Pizza Hut. Large pie cost me $40 after tip. I should have made top ramen instead!

  • Jackie G.

Health food Pizza? Who knew?! Well I ordered the American which everything tasted fresh but could have been cooked a little more in the center. It was a little too soft for my taste. It helped to know what I was eating was organic made so I wasn't feeling guilty afterwards. Not bad! I probably won't run and get another pizza here again, but at least I gave it a whirl. Prices are fairly standard for what you get.

Good crust, thin and crispy, great place to grab a slice or have dinner with the kids. Nice lunch special if you get there before 4pm on weekdays.

My husband and I split the California salad and had the Provence pizza.which we both enjoyed. The food came promptly and service was fine. The crust is thin and chewy. Definitely going back!

I love the gluten free pizzas and ZBQ! great service! Andres the manager is personable and on it with the the dirnks and pizza!

    (5)
  • Daniel B.

I'm actually kind of impressed. Pizza crust was thin but still held its shape. Ingredients were fresh and the sauce was better than average. Location is small, not much room if someone was to stay and eat. Staff was super friendly and helpful (tip good service all you cheap Aholes). However, i do have one complaint. I always loose a little respect for a restaurant who won't take the time to make their own dressings. I can smell Hidden Valley from a mile away, and I smelt laziness lol. Anyways, it wouldn't keep me from going back. Good food, friendly staff, nuffsaid.

Saw this place on Yelp when we were there looking for a quick dinner. We stopped by and got some slices to go. The staff was friendly and the pizza was nice. I would come back the next time I am in town.

Had delivery. Pepperoni and sausage pizza. Little pricey but good quality and good taste. Would eat here again. Took a little long to get to our door tho.

Their vegan pizza was amazing! We didn't even need a box to take it home.

  • Foodlover B.

We had the BBQ chicken pizza and the casanblanca. Both were tasty. Earlier, we had a beautiful hike at Virginia lakes and then saw all the amazing yellow orange leaves October 9, 2014 Ate here again. The santa pizza was okay. And the $6.95 California salad was itty bitty with mostly lettuce. So I ding the place a star! Today we drove to Mt,. Whitney and went to film museum in Lone Pine. The trees were again all beautiful yellow and orange,

Good pizza. Its all about organic. Its very expensive for a full pizza. The lunch deals by the slice are better. A chain, same as the one in el segundo. Noisy tv. servers are nice.

    (3)
  • GF R.

Delicious! And so many Gluten-Free options (and the GF pizza base is one of the best I've had). Service is good, prices are decent, but quality of food for a GF customer is outstanding. Will drop by every time I'm passing through town.

    (4)
  • Rachelle C.

Service and attitude sucks. Pizza was good but not worth the 45 minute wait for it. They should specialize in take out only since it seems to take priority.

  • Patty D.

My husband and I ordered a medium, vegan pizza- half Thai, half Tuscan. I loved the sweet, carmelized onion, vegan cheese, shitake mushrooms, button mushrooms and thyme. The flavors were rich and complex. My husband enjoyed the Thai more though cuz he likes foods spicier. The ambience was ok but all in all, very clean. We are going back today to try the other vegan pizzas.

  • Maya H.

The best pizza ! And I am usually very picky when it comes to good pizza. The Provence is out of this world delicious !!! It is so good we went there 2 days in a row and loved it both times!

    (5)
  • Sarah P.

They'll deliver a pear and gorgonzola pizza to your door in a snowstorm. I don't care if it tastes like a shoe (it doesn't) and takes an hour to arrive (it does, sometimes), if you deliver in Mammoth, you get 5 stars from me.

    (5)
  • Sirsa S.

I loved Z Pizza while I was in Mammoth. The crust is thin and salted perfectly with a little flavor from the olive oil. Both pizzas I tasted were incredible --the Tuscan and the Napoli. One thing I love is that the pizza was NOT SOGGY. Don't ya just hate it when your cheese falls off your pizza cause it's so gooey and soggy around the crust? Ugh, gross. Z Pizza stays together perfectly, it's very well seasoned with fantastic crust, and the ingredients are all organic! I love it. I would recommend getting single slices of different flavors so you can try a few different combinations. Yum.

    (4)
  • J. B.

Good pizza, thin crust; I got the ready to go one, so it wasn't super fresh, but still tasty. The guys making the pizzas and salads were fun and friendly, claiming their salad was the bomb. And it was very good! Cashier a little bored, but probably not her career of choice.

    (4)
  • Jim C.

Excellent pizza especially for a vegetarian or vegan. Hard to believe you get pizza this good at what amounts to a fast food place. We have eaten there several times for lunch. The Tuscan and Berkeley Vegan are great.

couple quick slices while out and about prior to incoming storm - good quality pizza, next time I'll try one of the specialty pies

  • Adam S.

Tasted from the lamp offerings and it was like eating a Tony's frozen pizza. Contemporary furnishings and menu can't make up for a good pie. Rarely do I give one star, but this deserves nothing more.

  • Rob W.

Ordered the rustic chicken curry & yam pizza. Muuuuch better than I could have ever hoped. Nice crispy flaky crust. EVERY bite came with a tangy/sweet burn to it. Topped with little orange yam cubes, chunks of chicken, caramelized onion, and of course curry. Overall, super delicious and feeds 1-2 for about 10 bucks. Came here with my mom to get something eat, last minute and the dude working the counter was super helpful, friendly, and considerate. Best pizza you'll get in the mammoth area.

  • Lucy P.

Ordered a Chicken Ceasar Salad and the lettuce was not washed. Pizza is average, stick to that.

    (3)
  • Amanda A.

The look of the place is a little deceiving, but don't be detoured - this is some yummy pizza! We will definitely be going there again the next time we visit! Pros: * Fresh Ingredients * Fresh Recipes * Not Greasey! Cons: * Cosmetic Appearance is Mediocre - Maybe Considered Minimalistic Modern ?

    (4)
  • Kim I.

Fresh ingredients, nice crispy crust, delivery to our hotel -- that warrants a thumbs up from me. We ordered two different pizzas and both were great. Nothing too greasy, really liked the crust. It was thin with a perfect mix of chewy & crispy.

  • CC C.

Great Pizza, we visited it every time we are in town.

    (4)

Pizza was very good. When they were making it we even saw them putting fresh herbs, straight from the sprigs, on the pizza! Everything tasted fantastic! We will go here again!

I rarely try new pizza places because im so picky when it comes to pizza, however we did try zpizza on our last mammoth trip, we had the zbbq pizza and it was thee best pizza ive ever had! We also got a pesto pasta which was good but not the best- get the pizza!

BE AWARE OF ONLINE ORDERING! This experience began with having to enter personal information just to SEE THE PRICES. I ordered pizza through online system, was given a confirmation number and a delivery time of 1230. Around 1250 I called store and ask if the order was on the way was told "we don't deliver today". When asked why the online system would allow us to place a delivery order when delivery is not an option, the gentleman told me they "have no control over the online system and it's all done by corporate". He then stated that they didn't have record of our order in the store and was told "we can't sit at a computer waiting for orders to come in". We ended up placing an order and the manager was called in to deliver the pizza to us. The pizza was 2/5 stars- we got the bbq chx and santa fe chx, bbq was better, but both were average. Definitely could have had more toppings on the pizzas. Cheese was salty. Sante Fe pizza had serrano peppers listed in the ingredients, but not a single bite was the least bit spicy.

    (1)
  • Joseph W.

5 stars just because they delivered in a storm when no one would deliver... Not even dominoes. Don't even know how it's going to taste but better than eating nothing. Owner even delivered! Food was good!

Not the typical frat boy Mammoth pizza like all the rest. This pizza you'll actually look forward to.

  • Harry E.

Wow, a heck of a great crust!

    (4)
  • Hilda O.

Good delivery choice. They delivered as planned and gave me one of the best delivery salads ever (we ordered the greek salad). I'm not a thin pizza fan but this was nice.

    (4)
  • Cecilia B.

Wonderful for vegetarians, vegans, and those eating gluten free. The vegan cheese is actually really good here. When you request "no meat" on a pizza that typically has meat a small amount of money is subtracted from the price. Z Pizza used quality ingredients and they make for awesome tasting pizzas. This is also one of the only places in Mammoth open past 8-9 pm during the summer which gives them huge bonus points in my book.

    (4)
  • Quinn B.

Decent-- I think the prices were fair and the toppings were fresh. Nothing to get excited about.

    (3)
  • RC S.

Love all their pizzas! But, our favorite the margherita, not sure what's call here....lol Super fresh ingredients, usualy we see all the garlic being roasted right in front of us. The crew behind the counter are always happy to see you. One interesting fact, we tried eating at other Z Pizza locations and they're not the same! Not sure if it's the high altitude or what, but Mammoth location by far have the most tasty pizza!

    (5)
  • Shawn J.

I dont know why this place has such high reviews. The atmosphere reminds me of a subway, the pizza is mediocre at best, and there is no service to speak of. This place is a franchise that was set up, staffed with minimum wage workers who dont care, and forgotten about. If you are visiting mammoth lakes try someplace else like Giovanni's or Nik-N-Willie's Pizza-n-Subs. Those were our other two choices and both looked 10x better than this place.

  • Matt M.

Really tasty pizza & salad, plus they delivered in a timely fashion. Will go back for sure.

ZPizza is so good! Who ever thought that mango chutney and yams could be so good on pizza?

    (5)
  • Steve O.

We are delighted to have finally found a good pizza place in Mammoth. We've been coming to Mammoth for years and the kids always want pizza so we've tried several local joints. None of them are any good - mediocre at best. I loved zpizza (my first time at any zpizza) and it was terrific. The pepperoni is cooked slightly crispy and covers the entire slice. The "Provence" pizza, with garlic, tomatoes, basil, capers, and artichokes, was outstanding and I don't even like artichokes. It appears that some of the ingredients are organic, so that's an added bonus. Prices are very reasonable, esp compared to the pricing at Mammoth Village. We'll be back for sure.

    (4)
  • Kristy N.

Not my first ZPizza. We used to eat in Porter Ranch all the time. This is the same fresh, delicious, amazing pizza. Outstanding toppings. Once you try ZPizza I think it will become your goto pizza shop.

  • Nancy K.

Ordered two pizzas and a salad for take-out while up for the week. Crust on both pizzas had nice flavor, but the rest was less than stellar. Casablanca pizza was really dry and tasted strange - their choice of cheese did not work well with the other ingredients. The Rustica Chicken Sausage pizza was also dry - marinara had some spice combination I did not enjoy and the sausage was pretty flavorless. The California Salad was also pretty pathetic - a few thinly sliced tomato and cucumber, thickly sliced red onion, and a few already-blackening slices of avocado - really not appealing. Had Nik-N-Willie's later that week as well and was a significant improvement in flavor, quality and price. Overall, not a very good value for the price.

  • Dude D.

Pretty good for a chain restaurant, blows Domino's away. Pizza is not greasy with a nice crust and interesting combos available. Nice salads too. Only thing I wish is that the chicken was a little better cut of meat. But, once again, chain.

Tried gluten-free crust, very good ZBQ and Hawaiian pies, and Firestone DBA on tap...excellent first experience at zpizza! Counter service was a little rude, but we weren't there to make friends with her anyways. Kitchen staff was very friendly.

a decent, not cheap place to stop in for a slice of pizza, i got a thai-themed slice and it was interesting

We had a houseful of hungover/hungry football fans craving some original and delicious sounding pizza so we placed an order on ZPizza's website for delivery. The website gave us a confirmation number and an estimated delivery time of 12:30. 12:50 came around with no pizza in sight, so we made a call to follow up on our order. The kid that answered the phone said he wasn't aware of our order and that "it wasn't his job to look at the computer for orders." He also said they weren't delivering that day. WTF? A lot of back and forth later, they decided to call in the manager to bring us our pizzas. Over TWO HOURS after placing our order, our pizzas arrived. The BBQ sauce tasted like it came straight from the can, and the crust was super salty. Other than that, the toppings were decent. Overall, about par for the course for Mammoth cuisine: overpriced and poor customer service. You're better off with DiGiorno.

  • Chris C.

After years of coming to Mammoth, thankfully there is a place to get good pizza, both traditional and newer cusine. I ordered a small greek salad (good olive content) and rustica pizza with chicken sausage and arugula. The pizza was overall quite good and I thought that the crust was excellent as well as the freshness of the ingredients. As a picky pizza eater, this was a winner. Can't wait for the beer/wine license to come in. The downside is that the dining area is very basic which seems to encourage take out rather than dine in.

    (4)
  • David D.

Finally some good pizza comes to Mammoth. Pizza is fresh and made with quality ingredients. My wife really enjoyed her gluten-free pizza too. Very thin crispy crust with a tomato sauce that doesn't over power the pizza. The 2 slice lunch deal is a budget-friendly deal by Mammoth standards too.

  • Ida P.

I ordered a large Napoli on the gluten-free crust and without the parmesan. It was delicious, and the perfect meal for acclimating to high elevation. The crust (like most GF crusts) probably wouldn't have kept well for the next day, but that wasn't a problem since the four of us devoured the pie. I liked having the option of ordering online, but I called the order in so that I could ensure the GF crust and to get an estimate on the pick-up time. It's not the best GF pizza I've had, but I would definitely eat it again if I was in the area.

  • Lynda W.

I'm giving it 4 stars for now because I've only been there once but I like it. $2.99 for a slice of anything, they threw it in the oven to heat it up and out the door I went with my after skiing snack. It was satisfying which was questionable at first because it wasn't a great big slice but after eating it, I was happy. I like any place that makes an effort to be sustainable/green and uses good ingredients to make a good piece of pizza. And the fact that they don't nickel and dime for every stupid topping is great. This was painless and actually quite pleasant and I'm already craving my next slice. I may bump them up to 5 stars if they keep this up.

love z pizza, best pizza in mammoth weather you order a whole pizza or just walk in, the Napoli is my favorite

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together.
